Our Story

Park Design and Print Services (PDP) was established by Park Community School to give young people real life work experience. It began as an enterprise project, using digital reproducing equipment to produce internal school reprographics. Over time we became more established and produced bespoke educational printing, meeting the exact requirements of school staff, for example providing individual student planners, tailored exercise books and many learning materials.

We operate away from the school site in an industrial unit in Leigh Park. We offer high quality specialist printing for a wide range of customers including small businesses, large companies, charities, as well as other schools and personal printing for individuals.

Young people have been involved from the beginning. We offer work experience to other schools and paid employment for students from Park Community School.

Past students continue to work with us whilst at college and university becoming valued members of the team. We continue to look for ways to involve more young people.

Students visit PDP as part of the school curriculum in Year 7, 8 and 9 to help produce printed materials for Park and other customers. They carry out the specialist finishing of some products and gain real life experience of a working environment, learning about the different roles within the PDP team. Students also work with the graphic designer to design and create products for themselves.
